It is technically the first day of spring today, but I’m gonna let that slide as the wintry ‘For What It’s Worth’ by James Hoffman is too good not to share! Featuring on the same album as ‘Wish You Well’ (which I included in my Spring indie-folk compilation), this song starts off slow and steady, with just James’ voice and guitar taking comfort in your ears. As you fall deeper into the track, the instrumentation builds and builds; by the time you reach the orchestrated climax with its many layers of harmonies, it’s hard to you’re listening to the same song (but in the best way!). ‘For What It’s Worth’ has close to 400,000 streams on Spotify, but only a couple hundred on YouTube – let’s change that right now!
