I’m well-aware that a lot of my playlists mostly feature happy, upbeat songs which lift your spirits and get you dancing. While this is great (and often intentional), what about the rest of the time? Those times when you’re sad, feeling a little bit down and just need some alone time? This is where my new playlist comes in; it’s a melancholic menagerie of musings and stories from a host of independent artists, to accompany you on your Lonely Rainy Days. There’s even gentle rain sounds in the background of the video throughout it’s +1 hour run-time, to calm you down and help you look inwards. So get your sad on, and have a listen:

Some of the artists in the playlist are recent discoveries that I have featured recently on alexrainbirdMusic (Alec Benjamin, Dillon Bhana), others were showcased in previous monthly playlists (Lewis Bootle, Victor Perry), while the rest are brand-new to my channel (Swan Levitt, Tuvaband). The one thing they all have in common is the feeling of loneliness, sadness and reflection. Some tracks in this mix are brutally personal, relatable and could even make you cry. But they also all offer hope; hope that it will get better, that whatever your feeling will pass and that sadness is sometimes critical to becoming a better, happier person – and when that happens, we can all get back to dancing to the upbeat songs.
Let me know what you think of this special playlist and if you enjoy it, I’ll definitely make some more (perhaps covering different moods and emotions)!
